These terms and conditions (these “Terms”) govern your registration for and participation in the NAPABA Convention (the “Event”) and create an agreement between the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (“NAPABA,” “we,” “us,”
or “our”) and you. You represent to us that you are authorized to enter into these Terms.
Event: You may only register for and attend the Event in accordance with these Terms. To register for
the Event, you must complete the Event registration process. Sharing your registration with another person(s) is a violation of these Terms and Conditions and may result in your access to the Event being revoked.

you.

Consent Clause: By attending this Event, you acknowledge and agree that NAPABA has the right to use,
reproduce, broadcast, rebroadcast, or incorporate in any manner whatsoever, all of any portion of photographs and/or videos of you or your participation in the Event for use in marketing materials and or/training materials for internal
use (“Materials”). You irrevocably, grant, transfer, and assign a nonexclusive, perpetual, worldwide, royalty free right and license to NAPABA, if any, in and to the Materials and all copyrights in the Materials arising in any jurisdiction
throughout the world, including the right to register and sue to enforce such copyrights against infringers. You understand that the Materials may be substantially edited, altered, rearranged or modified. To the maximum extent permitted
by law, you hereby waive any moral rights you may have in the Materials.
ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND RELEASE WAIVER
I acknowledge that I will be voluntarily participating in a multi-day conference expected to have over 3,000 attendees who will come to the event from many different locations across the U.S and abroad.
I agree that travel
and gathering involves risk of sickness, including sickness from COVID-19, influenza and other communicable illnesses. I (and on behalf of my guest(s)) release NAPABA and its sponsors and exhibitors, and their employees and agents,
from and against claims, liabilities and expenses arising from injury, sickness or death from contraction or spread of illness, including COVID-19 or other communicable disease, due to travel to or attendance at this event.
I recognize that there may be risks involved in participating in physical activities held during the Convention, such as morning. I understand that it is my responsibility to modify movements to fit my limitations and level
of conditioning and that NAPABA is not responsible for injuries that occur during these activities.
I understand that the opinions, statements, presentations, data, images, videos, documents and other information expressed
or otherwise shared by presenters or other participants at the Convention are for informational purposes only. The views and opinions expressed by presenters and other participants are not those of NAPABA, unless expressly indicated
otherwise.
STANDARDS OF PROFESSIONALISM
Each registrant, attendee, and participant of the Event, regardless of whether the registrant, attendee, or participant is a member of NAPABA, agrees to abide by the expectations and prohibitions of the NAPABA Standards of Professionalism (“Standards”):
NAPABA is committed to being a welcoming, safe, supportive, and empowering organization that embraces its mission, reflects its values, and fosters a cohesive community among its members. Deeply committed to its mission of promoting justice,
equity and opportunity for Asian Pacific Americans, NAPABA recognizes and fully embraces the notion that high standards of personal and professional behavior—imbued with the principles of good character, honesty, integrity, mutual
respect, and professional courtesy—promote a healthy spirit of community conducive to shared trust, mutual appreciation, and the collective well-being of its members and the organization as a whole. It is further understood and valued
that, within and throughout NAPABA, each person is to be respected regardless of that individual’s race, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical appearance, disability, religious beliefs, political affiliation,
and/or other group identity.
In adopting these Standards of Professionalism (“Standards”), NAPABA also acknowledges that behavior by a member contravening these Standards may serve to undermine and bring unwarranted
discredit to NAPABA and its members, and should therefore not be tolerated.
Expectations: NAPABA expects each of its members to adhere to the following guiding principles:
- Always act in a professional manner, being respectful, civil, and considerate of others;
- Ensure NAPABA endures as a welcoming, inclusive, supportive, and empowering organization; and
- Hold oneself and other members accountable to these Standards.
NAPABA is committed to fostering a robust member community premised on the principles of self-respect and shared regard and genuine appreciation for fellow members. Therefore, NAPABA prohibits:
- Illegal, unethical, or dishonorable behavior in all NAPABA matters;
- Harassment, discrimination, ridicule, or bullying in any form at any time against any members;
- Any activity or conduct that may jeopardize, undermine or compromise the safety, health, or well-being of oneself or others, or the good standing or reputation of the Association; and
- Retaliation against anyone who seeks advice from, raises a concern with, or makes a good-faith complaint of any nature against NAPABA or any individual associated with NAPABA.
NAPABA expects its members to abide by the letter and spirit of these Standards and all relevant NAPABA governing documents and policies, as well as comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, and regulations.
Reporting Unacceptable Behavior: Anyone who witnesses or reasonably believes that another person has violated the above Standards should notify the NAPABA Executive Director or their designee. Reporting a violation
of the Standards may be done anonymously.
Possible Consequences of Violating Standards: Violation of these Standards may result in disciplinary action, which may include immediate dismissal from the
Event (without a refund), a prohibition from participation in any future NAPABA event, and/or the suspension or termination of membership in accordance with the NAPABA bylaws. NAPABA reserves the right to report potential misconduct
to the appropriate law enforcement agencies and pursue any remedy allowable by law.
ACCESSIBILITY
NAPABA is committed to providing outstanding experience for all participants at its live events. We strive for full access to the activities of these events and accommodations relating to mobility, hearing, vision or other areas may be
provided. We ask that requests for reasonable accommodations be made as early as possible, and well in advance of the event, so we may best meet individual needs. Email convention@NAPABA.org to request special accommodations.
