Prospective Partners Program

Now Accepting Applications!

Application Deadline Extended: August 30, 2019

The NAPABA Prospective Partners Program (PPP) aims to increase the number of Asian Pacific American partners at major law firms through introduction, mentorship, and relationship building. In anticipation of the program's tenth year, the PPP will be inviting candidate applications and nominations for participation in PPP sessions taking place at the 2019 NAPABA Convention in Austin, TX from Nov. 7-10, 2019.

From the pool of candidate applications and nominations, the PPP will identify six to ten senior associates or of counsel from major aw firms who are "on-deck" (i.e., within 12-18 months of consideration) for partnership. Invited prospective partners will be introduced to a panel of senior in-house counsel (GCs and others with outside counsel hiring authority) and have the opportunity to introduce themselves and their practices during one of two sessions at the Convention on either Thursday, November 7th, or Friday, November 8th. In the weeks leading up to the Convention, the PPP will pair prospective partners with a “partner mentor” from a different law firm, to provide feedback and guidance on the prospective partner’s introduction presentation and career development.

Finally, prospective partners, in-house counsel panelists, and partner mentors will be invited to attend an after-hours reception on Thursday, Nov. 7th where they can continue building professional relationships in an informal social setting. The reception will be hosted by prospective partner participants and their firms.
