NAPABA membership dues operate on a calendar year, January 1 to December 31 and are not prorated. All members must renew before the beginning of each calendar year to ensure their membership status does not lapse.

Affiliate/National Associate Memberships

In order to activate your NAPABA membership, please choose from one of the four (4) membership categories below. Use the code that was provided to you by your NAPABA affiliate/national associate to waive the $100 membership fee. NAPABA will not issue refunds to affiliate members if they renew/activate a membership without utilizing the affiliate code.

Partners Directory

Eligible NAPABA members can be included in the NAPABA Partners Directory for an additional $250 annual contribution. Please select from any of the four (4) membership categories below that include the Partners Directory. Click here for more eligibility information.

*Associate (Non-Attorney) & Affiliate Associate (Non-Attorney) - Any person not licensed to practice law in the United States or Canada. Associate members shall not be eligible to vote, serve as a member of the Board or any committee of the Board or of the membership, or hold elected or appointed positions in NAPABA, but shall have other rights of membership.

*Law Student & Affiliate Law Student - Shall not be eligible to vote, serve as a member of the Board or any committee of the Board or of the membership, or hold elected or appointed positions in NAPABA, but shall have other rights of membership.

*National Associates are not, by virtue of such membership, eligible to vote or to serve as members of NAPABA’s Board of Governors or NAPABA Committees but may take advantage of all other benefits of membership. Such members may, however, acquire the right to vote and become eligible to serve in leadership positions by directly joining NAPABA or one of its Affiliates.


NAPABA is a not-for-profit organization under Internal Revenue Code § 501(c)(6). Membership dues paid to NAPABA are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. Membership dues may, however, be deductible as business expenses, subject to restrictions imposed as a result of lobbying activities. NAPABA estimates that 45% of all dues paid to NAPABA are used for lobbying expenditures and, accordingly, 45% of your dues are non-deductible for federal income tax purposes. If you have questions, we recommend that you consult with a tax advisor.
