In order to activate your NAPABA membership, please choose from one of the membership categories below. If you are a member of a NAPABA affiliate bar association (opens new window), you can get a coupon for complimentary membership (excluding add-ons) from your local bar leadership. All coupons must be applied at the time of purchase. NAPABA will not issue refunds or apply coupons later.
Attorneys who practice in law firms with 25 or more attorneys. Law firm partners who sign up in this category may join the NAPABA Partners Network (subject to meeting eligibility requirements).
Includes attorneys working in corporate settings who maintain an active license to practice or need CLEs.
For individuals who are solo practitioners or are in firms with fewer than 25 attorneys. Law firm partners who sign up in this category may join the NAPABA Partners Network (subject to meeting eligibility requirements).
Members of academia including all faculty, deans, and administrators who are attorneys.
Government and public sector attorneys, including those who work in court systems or as judicial law clerks.
Public interest attorneys, including all attorneys who work in non-profits, legal aid programs, and other public interest organizations.
Individuals who are judges, including those in the federal courts, state courts, and other agencies. Members at this level may join the NAPABA Judicial Council.
Individuals who are retired from the practice of law and do not need CLE credits. Retired Judges may select this level and join the NAPABA Judicial Council.
Individuals who are currently unemployed or seeking employment and are not students or retired.
Students enrolled in ABA-accredited law schools in the U.S. or Canada. Membership note: Law students may not vote in NAPABA elections or hold elected or appointed positions within the organization.
Those individuals who are not currently or have not been licensed attorneys in the U.S. or Canada. Membership note: Non-attorneys may not vote in NAPABA elections or hold elected or appointed positions within the organization.

NAPABA is a not-for-profit organization under Internal Revenue Code § 501(c)(6). Membership dues paid to NAPABA are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. Membership dues may, however, be deductible as business expenses, subject to restrictions imposed as a result of lobbying activities. NAPABA estimates that 45% of all dues paid to NAPABA are used for lobbying expenditures and, accordingly, 45% of your dues are non-deductible for federal income tax purposes. If you have questions, we recommend that you consult with a tax advisor.
