NAPABA ANNOUNCES SIDNEY KANAZAWA AND McGUIREWOODS LLP
AS ITS 2014 PRESIDENT’S AWARD RECIPIENTS

WASHINGTON – The National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) will honor Sidney Kanazawa and McGuireWoods LLP with the 2014 NAPABA President’s Award during the NAPABA Anniversary Gala and Installation Banquet on November 8, 2014, at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona. This award is given at discretion of the NAPABA President to individuals or organizations who have made important contributions to NAPABA or the Asian Pacific American (APA) community.

NAPABA President William J. Simonitsch chose to honor Kanazawa for his significant contributions as NAPABA’s General Counsel and to honor McGuireWoods LLP in light of the firm’s ongoing support of NAPABA through direct financial contributions and the many pro bono hours donated by numerous attorneys of McGuireWoods.

Kanazawa is a partner at the Los Angeles office of McGuireWoods LLP. He has served as NAPABA’s General Counsel since 2008. His firm, McGuireWoods LLP, has been a long supporter of NAPABA and the NAPABA Law Foundation. In addition to many pro bono hours, McGuireWoods established an internship program with the NAPABA Law Foundation, funding summer interns and law clerks at the NAPABA office in Washington, D.C.

NAPABA thanks McGuireWoods LLP and Sidney Kanazawa for their continued support of NAPABA and the advancement of APAs in the legal profession.
