General Information

As part of our strategic priority to elevate NAPABA's standing as a credible, compelling, and respected voice for the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander community, NAPABA actively promotes the advancement of AANHPI lawyers to positions of leadership and influence in the non-profit sector. To bolster these efforts, for nearly a decade, NAPABA has endorsed members and leaders to represent both our organization and the AANHPI community within the American Bar Association (ABA).

Annually, the ABA appoints approximately 700 volunteers to ABA Standing Committees, Special Committees, Commissions, and other Association entities and initiatives. The ABA President-Elect and Appointments Committee receives and reviews volunteer nominations and appoints individuals based on their qualifications, skillsets, and areas of interest. Nominations for volunteer positions must be received by the ABA by February 10, 2026. The leadership position begins September 1, 2026.
