2021 SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

McGuireWoods / NAPABA Law Foundation Internship Program

The National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) is pleased to partner with the NAPABA Law Foundation and McGuireWoods to offer an internship opportunity that supports the development of students interested in the legal profession and will help students develop a commitment to advocacy on behalf of the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community. The program seeks to achieve these goals by providing undergraduate and law school students with meaningful internship experiences at the Washington, DC offices of NAPABA and NLF.

Intern Responsibilities 

The intern will work on projects that will further the missions of NAPABA and NLF, including:

  • Conducting research on issues affecting AAPIs and the legal profession;
  • Coordinating the activities of our sponsorship program 
  • Attending virtual events and meetings in the AAPI and legal community;
  • Assisting with the development, planning, and execution of programs such as the Leadership Advancement Program; and
  • Performing other tasks to support NAPABA/NLF staff as necessary. Up to 50% of the intern’s time may be spent on projects for NLF.
 

Intern Qualifications

  • High degrees of resourcefulness, problem-solving, and initiative;
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects;
  • Excellent writing skills;
  • Keen attention to detail;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; and
  • Interest in law, events, and/or program development.

Intern Compensation

The internship is a 12-week opportunity and interns are expected to work a minimum of 16 hours per week. The intern will be awarded a stipend of $3,000. Funding for this program is generously provided by McGuireWoods LLP.

Deadlines

You must submit your application materials no later than April 1, 2021 at 5:00 PM ET. Materials submitted after the deadline will not be considered. All applications will be considered on a rolling basis.
