Candidate Statement

I seek to serve NAPABA and the APIA community as a Director on the NAPABA Board. I believe in the importance of NAPABA as the national voice for the APIA legal profession and the need for NAPABA to promote justice, equity, and opportunity for Asian Pacific Islander Americans.

As a NAPABA Director, I hope to aid in NAPABA’s goal to foster professional development and community involvement among members of the APIA legal community and to Inspire and empower the next generation of APIA legal leaders. During my previous tenure on the Board, I helped to increase the number of affiliates and increase support for affiliates where the APIA legal community was not as visible. I will bring my experience from 30+ years in the Marine Corps and 20+ years in the legal profession to serve NAPABA, focusing on building connections between affiliates and further advancing NAPABA’s successful mentoring and professional development programs.

Our nation is at an historic inflection point as we address COVID, racial justice and an ever-widening divide among Americans. We are all in this storm together, but the strengths of our respective boats differ a great deal. And yet, I firmly believe that there is more that unites us than divides us. NAPABA is an important voice in uniting our community and our nation. I would be honored to serve as a NAPABA Director and humbly seek your support.
