As attorneys, we are constantly under stress, working against deadlines, and dealing with a lot of different parties who are often in conflict and under emotional stress themselves. To maintain our mental health, we can learn the basics of meditation and have a tool that we can practice daily at our disposal.  Regular meditation practice that can help us gain better focus, alleviate stress, and help prevent mental health issues like depression and anxiety. This course will discuss the disproportionate rates of mental health issues among lawyers, introduce the basic techniques of meditation practice, explain how it works, and how it would fit into the lives of attorneys in particular. We will also do a quick 5 minute meditation together and then take questions afterwards.

About the presenter: 
Lin is currently a pro bono attorney volunteering with the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada and the Veterans Legal Institute.  Previously, she was an active duty judge advocate with the United States Air Force, stationed in Florida, Texas, and served in Afghanistan during both the Enduring Freedom and Resolute Support campaigns.  While in the Air Force, Lin prosecuted sexual assault and drug cases, advised commanders on disciplinary actions, and was responsible for millions of dollars in contracts on behalf of the United States government.  Lin graduated from Cornell University and University of Pennsylvania Law School. Lin is a full-time mom to an adorable toddler, Arabella.  In her spare time, she promotes meditation through leading a hiking and meditation tour here in Vegas where she takes guests hiking and teaches meditation in a beautiful, natural surroundings.  

This course has been approved for 1 AAMH CLE Credit.
