The goal of this webinar is to help lawyers navigate initial questions from clients who might face immediate issues involving law enforcement. Panelists will discuss non-arrest situations and arrest situations. What do you do in the first 10 minutes when a client calls about law enforcement? What should a lawyer be thinking about and asking when they talk to law enforcement for the first time? How should lawyers handle subpoenas and search warrants? How should lawyers handle arrest situations?

Tristan Dau, Dau Law Firm — Tristan Dau is a Texas-based defense attorney who previously served as an Austin Police officer and remained in law enforcement for approximately four years.

Susan Lin, Kairys, Rudovsky, Messing, Feinberg & Lin LLP — Susan Lin is an experienced criminal defense attorney who has won numerous jury trials in both state and federal court. In addition to her trial work, she has guided many clients through the process of serving as a witness in grand jury proceedings and negotiating plea agreements with prosecutors. 

Stephen Lee, Law Office of Stephen Chahn Lee, LLC — Stephen Lee was a federal prosecutor in Chicago for 11 years, a reporter for the Chicago Tribune, and a partner at a mid-sized firm. He is now a solo practitioner focusing on health care fraud defense and data analytics in complex litigation. He is a graduate of Yale College and Columbia Law School.
