“IT’S NOT FAIR” – The last words uttered by Vincent Chin reflect a sentiment felt by People of Color throughout US history.  Chin, a 27-year-old Chinese American, was brutally attacked and killed in 1982 by two disgruntled Detroit autoworkers who blamed the Japanese for taking American jobs. They never spent a night in jail. This tragedy and resulting miscarriage of justice sparked the modern Asian American civil rights movement. Yet, few people know his name and others assume it was an isolated incident. Fast forward to this past year, when acts of anti-Asian American violence and hate have jumped significantly, including the Atlanta spa shootings, and we have to ask ourselves, what can we learn from the lessons of the past, how did we end up here again, and what can we do to ensure justice?

Join us for this important conversation as our distinguished panel tackles these tough issues, through the lens of history, and provides insights and intel to help us navigate bigotry and bias against people of Asian heritage and all People of Color, going forward.
