NAPABA is pleased to co-sponsor this webinar brought to you by APABA-DC.

APABA-DC is deeply troubled by the steep rise in hate crimes and acts of discrimination targeting the AAPI community during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, especially the recent violent attacks against AAPI elders in Northern California and the horrific shooting of six AAPI women and others in Atlanta. Given that we live and work in the Nation’s Capitol, we have a keen interest in the role the federal government can and should play in combating such discrimination, the intersection between federal and state laws, and what we in DC can do to help.  Please join us on Tuesday, March 30 at 6pm Eastern for an important and timely discussion with two esteemed former government officials.

Panelists:

Jessie K. Liu, Partner at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, former U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, and a former Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division

Robert K. Hur, former U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland and former Principal Associate Deputy Attorney General in the U.S. Department of Justice

Roy L. Austin, Jr., Vice President for Civil Rights & Deputy General Counsel at Facebook and a former Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division

You can RSVP here.  Please feel free to share this event with your affinity groups, colleagues, friends, and family.  If you have any questions, please reach out to Erica Lai at president@apaba-dc.org
