APABA-DC’s Women’s Forum is thrilled to invite you to the inaugural event in its ‘Women Leaders” series, which celebrates the achievements of trailblazing APA women attorneys: our fireside chat with Kalpana Srinivasan, co-Managing Partner of Susman Godfrey and member of the firm’s Executive Committee.  Kalpana has secured significant victories for her clients in antitrust, patent, trade secret, copyright, class action, media and other disputes.  She served as lead trial counsel for Universal Cable Productions, a NBC Universal subsidiary, in an insurance coverage dispute; acted as Court-appointed co-lead counsel for a certified class of consumers impacted by Qualcomm’s allegedly anticompetitive conduct in mobile chipset sales; secured court approval for a class action settlement valued at over $100 million with Spotify; and won a $706.2 million jury verdict for HouseCanary in a misappropriation of trade secret, fraud, and breach of contract case.

Among her many recognitions, Kalpana has been named as a Titan of the Plaintiffs Bar by Law360; and as California IP Litigation, Litigation Attorney, and Plaintiff Attorney of the Year, one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in America, and one of the Top 10 Women Litigators by Benchmark Litigation.  She has received the Cornerstone Award from the South Asian Bar Association of North America (SABA-NA) and been recognized as a Trailblazer by The South Asian Bar Association of Southern California for her dedication to furthering the professional development of the South Asian legal community.  She has also served in leadership positions for the California State Bar, Western Justice Center, SABA-NA, and ABA Antitrust Law Section.

Kalpana holds a B.A. (cum laude) from Yale University, a J.D. (with distinction) from Stanford Law School, and clerked for the Honorable Raymond C. Fisher of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.  Before becoming a lawyer, Ms. Srinivasan reported for The Associated Press in D.C., covering national media and telecommunications policy. You can read more about Kalpana here

The fireside chat will be held via Zoom on Thursday, December 3 from 6:30pm to 7:30pm EDT.
