Speaker Coaching for Convention Speakers

 

NAPABA is excited to offer a new pilot program to our 2019 NAPABA Convention speakers! Speakers who express an interest in one-on-one speaker coaching will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis for one FREE hour with a Communications Coach to help improve their speaking presentation style in advance of the NAPABA Convention.  

After the initial free hour, each speaker will have the option to continue working with their Coach. NAPABA has negotiated a discounted fee of $1,425 for a 3-session package add-on or $2,500 for a 6-session package add-on. 

WHAT TO EXPECT

First FREE Session

During the first hour, speakers can expect the following:

  • An understanding of their personal speaking strengths and weaknesses
  • Videotaping of mock speech and review with the Coach
  • Personalized tips for improving communication

3-Session Package Add-On | $1,425

Three (3) hour-long sessions where speakers will work on the following:

  • Gaining insight and developing introspection of own strengths and weaknesses
  • Improving ONE area of communication to maximize impact in a short period of time. Potential areas of improvement could be: vocal intonation; vocal projection; filler words; breathing technique; pace of speech; eye contact; movement; gestures; or structure.

6-Session Package Add-On | $2,500

Six (6) hour-long sessions where speakers will work on the following:

  • Gaining insight and developing introspection of own strengths and weaknesses
  • Improving TWO to THREE areas of communication to maximize impact in a short period of time. Potential areas of improvement could be: executive presence; authentic speaking style; aspects of delivery (such as vocal intonation, vocal projection, eye contact and body language); audience analysis; structuring messages; or responding to difficult questions.

REQUIREMENT

  • You must be a confirmed speaker at the 2019 NAPABA Convention.

MEET THE COMMUNICATIONS COACHES

Monisha Toteja, CEO and Coach, Dynamic Speaking LLC

Monisha Toteja has over 15 years of professional experience and possesses a solid background in strategic thinking and structured communication. Monisha has worked with the private, public and nonprofit sectors, and has assisted a wide variety of professionals in defining their strategic vision, creating a pitch for potential clients and investors, engaging key stakeholders and improving their overall communication skills. Monisha works extensively with attorneys, particularly minorities and women, and conducted a communication workshop for the NAPABA Women’s Leadership Network at the 2017 NAPABA Convention.

Monisha holds an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, an MA in International Studies from The Lauder Institute, University of Pennsylvania, and a BA in German Studies from Duke University. She speaks German fluently, Hindi conversationally and has a basic knowledge of Spanish. Monisha also teaches communication at The Wharton School.

 

Sue Guiher, Communications Consultant, Executive and Leadership Coach, Thrive for Success, LLP

Sue Guiher has over 30 years of professional experience and possesses a solid background in leadership and persuasive communication. Sue has worked with the private, public and nonprofit sectors, and has assisted a wide variety of professionals in creating strong business foundations, identifying core messages, creating a pitch for potential clients and investors, improving internal and external team interactions and improving their overall communications skills.

Sue did her doctoral work in Adult Communication at Temple University. She holds a dual MS degree in Speech/Language Pathology and Audiology from Ithaca College. She also graduated from Ithaca College as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Impaired with minors in Psychology, Gerontology and Business. Over the past ten years, Sue has taught multiple MBA and Executive MBA courses at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania including Persuasive Speaking, Crisis Communication, Communicating Under Pressure and Business Storytelling. She has also been a writing coach for Wharton students for the past seven years.

 

Teresa "Tisa" Bien, Med - Consultant & Coach, Bien Consulting

Tisa Bien has 25 years of experience as a management consultant. Her background is in communications coaching, leadership development, technical and soft skills training. For the last ten years, Tisa is the operating manager of a boutique communications and performance consulting firm. From non-profits to fortune 500 firms, Tisa has advised leaders, teams and individual contributors to articulate and achieve their goals.

Tisa holds a BS in medical education and counseling psychology, and a MEd in adult education from The Pennsylvania State University. For ten years, Tisa has had an appointment as an Instructor at University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. She teaches both the MBAs persuasive speaking and the advance entrepreneur pitching courses.

When not teaching or training, or coaching or consulting, Tisa is happily exploring her next real estate investment opportunity.
