		| Register Now A look at two important legal cases involving violence against Asian Americans: the 1850s murder that led to an infamous California Supreme Court opinion, People vs. Hall and the 1980s killing of Vincent Chin that helped give rise to Asian American activism. Former prosecutor and journalist Stephen Lee and Adjunct Professor of Asian American studies Chris M. Kwok will lead a discussion of what happened in these cases and how our legal system has improved since then. 
 Panelists Chris M. Kwok, JAMS Mediator (Moderator) -  Chris Kwok is a Mediator and community organizer who has been active in speaking about anti-Asian violence and harassment. He is a board member of AABANY and the Asian American Federation, and adjunct faculty in Asian American studies at CUNY Hunter.
 Stephen Lee, Stephen Lee Law - Stephen Lee was a federal prosecutor in Chicago for 11 years, a reporter for the Chicago Tribune, and a partner at a mid-sized firm.  He is now a solo practitioner focusing on health care fraud defense and data analytics in complex litigation.  He is a graduate of Yale College and Columbia Law School.
