Affiliate & National Associate Application

What is an affiliate?

Affiliates are local and state bar associations that are officially affiliated with NAPABA. The individual members of Affiliates are entitled to Affiliate memberships in NAPABA, which means that they are eligible to vote and to serve as members of NAPABA’s Board of Governors and NAPABA Committees and may take advantage of all the other benefits to which NAPABA’s individual members are entitled.

The requirements for Affiliate membership in NAPABA are set out in Article III of the NAPABA Bylaws here.

What is a national associate?

National Associates are national legal associations that are officially affiliated with NAPABA. The individual members of National Associates are not, by virtue of such membership, eligible to vote or to serve as members of NAPABA’s Board of Governors or NAPABA Committees but may take advantage of all other benefits of membership. Such members may, however, acquire the right to vote and become eligible to serve in leadership positions by directly joining NAPABA or one of its Affiliates.

The requirements for membership in NAPABA as a National Associate are set out in Article III of the NAPABA Bylaws here.

Annual Dues

NAPABA Affiliate and National Associate annual dues are determined by the number of paid members within the organization.
