Judiciary & Executive Nominations and Appointments Committee
Share |
The Judiciary & Executive Nominations and Appointments Committee, founded in 1994, seeks to help increase the number of qualified Asian Pacific Americans (APAs) serving in our judicial system across the nation. Through the establishment of a national network of attorneys, judges, and contacts in the federal government, including the White House, United States Senate Judiciary Committee, and the offices of key U.S. Senators, as well as in the state governments, the Judiciary Committee works carefully to achieve three tasks: 1) to identify qualified APAs nationwide who are qualified, able and ready to serve in the judiciary; 2) to work closely with relevant officials to secure opportunities for appointing qualified APAs to the federal and state bench; and 3) to support qualified APAs throughout the judicial selection process. The Committee focuses its efforts at all levels, working to diversify not only the federal bench, but also to diversify the state court judiciary, the United States Attorney ranks, and other high level administrative appointments, thereby creating a pipeline for future federal and state court judicial appointments.
