A Message About Coronavirus
The emergence of the coronavirus is disrupting lives around the country and the world. On behalf of the entire NAPABA Board and staff, I hope you and your loved ones are safe during this time and are able to address the challenges that lie ahead. We urge you to follow the recommendations of public health officials and visit the Centers for Disease Control website at cdc.gov for updated information.
As attorneys, we will face challenges in our practice and ability to serve the public. We encourage you to check in with your state bars as agencies, courts, and law enforcement are changing their operations as the impact and medical advice evolves. Further, we have all seen the harmful effects racism is having on our community and on our students. NAPABA continues to join those speaking out against anti-Asian racism and xenophobia and encourages each of you to do your part to lift up impacted communities. This disease does not discriminate.
NAPABA continues to monitor the impact of coronavirus and considerations for the safety of our members and the general public. You may have noticed that deadlines for some NAPABA programs have been extended in light of the disruptive impact on your lives. We will evaluate the situation regularly and keep you informed.
Our conference calls, webinars, and virtual meetings will continue so you do not lose your connection to your NAPABA community. To help you during this unsettling time, we are working with a number of our Committees and Networks on special online programming related to coronavirus and dealing with the challenges presented. Our first program is shared below.
How to Stay Centered and Connected During Hardship
With coronavirus impacting our homes and our work, the Wellness Committee presents an open session to guide you through practices on how to stay centered as you manage your life through times of crisis. The program will include a guided self-check-in, tips on how to create space for yourself, and an interactive discussion on supporting others while supporting yourself in a changing environment.
Presented by the NAPABA Wellness Committee
Thursday, March 19 – 2pm ET/11am PT
