2020 Lobby Day

Lobby Day 2020

2020 Lobby Day

Due to the Coronavirus, NAPABA Lobby Day 2020 is canceled.

Following the advice of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to suspend all events that may attract 50 or more individuals, and in light of the declaration of public emergency, NAPABA has decided to cancel Lobby Day, originally scheduled for May 2020. Thank you for your understanding, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

NAPABA continues to work with its partners, affiliated bar associations, and policymakers to address issues of concern to our members and community.

NAPABA's Annual Lobby Day is an opportunity for NAPABA members from across the country to educate members of Congress and Congressional staffers on issues of importance to the Asian Pacific American community. Bringing together more than 100 attorneys during visits with 100 Congressional offices, Lobby Day also gives members an active role in promoting NAPABA's mission of advocating for justice, equity, and opportunity for Asian Pacific Americans.

All participants are required to participate in the trainings (including viewing the webinar and the in-person trainings), participate in meetings and attend the APAHM Congressional Reception. There is no registration fee required to participate in any Lobby Day events.

NAPABA offers limited stipends to NAPABA Members for assistance in participating in Lobby Day.

Questions? Contact Policy Director Navdeep Singh.

Asian Pacific American Heritage Month Congressional Reception

The annual Asian Pacific American Heritage Month Reception on Capitol Hill has been canceled.

Join NAPABA members and community leaders from across the country as we celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month with Members of Congress. The reception will bring together Lobby Day participants, members of Congress and their staff, and leaders in the APA community. This widely attended event is open to the public.

This event has been designed to comply with both the House and Senate gift rules. We also seek to comply with federal executive branch gift rules and the Presidential Executive Order on Ethics (and related Ethics Pledge) for appointees.

Hotel

NAPABA is working with the Thompson Hotel in Washington, DC, to cancel reservations for those who had made them as part of the NAPABA Lobby Day hotel block.
