Important Dates and Deadlines

Pre-Convention Logistics

2. Register for the Convention | Now Open!

All program moderators and speakers must register for the Convention. NAPABA offers two options for moderators and speakers to register:

  1. Moderators and speakers may pay for a full Convention registration, which includes admission to all plenaries, concurrent sessions, receptions, business meetings, and the gala. 
  2. Moderators and speakers may register for complimentary admission if they ONLY plan to attend the Convention the day of their speaking session. This option provides access to CLE sessions on the day of their session ONLY and does not include plenary or gala admission.

4. Scholarship | Now Closed

All costs associated with attending the NAPABA Convention, including registration, housing, and travel is the responsibility of each moderator and speaker. Although NAPABA does not provide reimbursements, registration discounts, or honoraria to any moderator or speaker presenting at the Convention, we strive to keep the Convention affordable and offer one of the best values among legal education conferences. We encourage our moderators and speakers to take advantage of NAPABA's scholarship fund to help defray the cost of attending. Please note that all scholarships will be awarded in the form of a reimbursement and will be disbursed after the Convention. You must be a direct NAPABA member to be eligible for a scholarship. 5. Connect with your CLE Committee Liaison

Connect with your CLE Committee Liaison. Your liaison will check in with you throughout the year and guide you along the way as you prepare your program for the Convention. He or she can also provide advice or recommendations on the content of your program. Check your acceptance email for your assigned liaison.

6. Edits to your Program and Speaker Information - Due Friday, Aug. 31 at 5 p.m. EDT

Your program details and speaker information will be published on the NAPABA registration site. Please review your information for correctness. Should you need to make any edits to your program, speaker information, or speaker lineup, please email Meetings Coordinator Pang Moua with your edits. Major changes to your program must be raised with your CLE Committee Liaison before submitting to Pang Moua. 

7. Speaker Release Form - Due Friday, Aug. 31 at 5 p.m. EDT

All moderators and speakers must submit a speaker release form. Speaker release forms may be submitted via the Box drive link assigned to the primary contact of your program. 

8. Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Written Materials - Due Friday, Aug. 31 at 5 p.m. EDT

All accepted programs must apply for CLE credit unless prior authorization has been provided by Director of Meetings & Sponsorship Priya Purandare. NAPABA will file for CLE accreditation on behalf of all programs, but it is the responsibility of the accepted program to provide the required written materials for filing. Please refer to pages 5-6 of the Submission Policies and Guidelines (see #1 above) for the written materials criteria.

CLE written materials must be in PDF format in one single PDF file and submitted via the Box drive link assigned to the primary contact of your program.

All CLE materials are due by the deadline stated above. If materials are not received by the CLE deadline, NAPABA will NOT seek CLE credit for your program and your program may be removed with notice.

9. Touch Base with Your Panelists

All NAPABA CLE programs are allotted 75 minutes. Rehearse your presentation and be sure to stay within the time allotted so that all speakers have an opportunity to speak and there is ample time for Q&A

10. Audio/Visual

All NAPABA CLE panel rooms are equipped with a projector and screen. Program chairs are responsible for bringing their own laptops with their presentation pre-loaded. Mac users must bring their own cable hook-up for the projector.

On-Site Tips

  • Arrive on-site early to pick up your badge and registration packet. 
  • Report to the room in which your presentation will take place 10 minutes early.

NOTE: Speakers and moderators may not serve on more than one panel at the Convention. NAPABA may exercise discretion to add, remove, or substitute speakers.
