Lorna Schofield Suggested for
Southern District of New York

NAPABA and the Asian American Justice Center welcomed the news that Senator Charles Schumer of New York has sent the name of Lorna Schofield to the White House to serve as a federal district court judge for the Southern District of New York.

NAPABA Celebrates Installation of
2011-2012 Board of Governors

NAPABA successfully held its 23rd Annual Convention, titled "Sustainability," in Atlanta, GA this November 17th through the 20th. The event was attended by over 1200 Asian Pacific American attorneys, judges, and legal scholars from around the country.

NAPABA recently presented the 2011 NAPABA Trailblazer Awards, the 2011 Best Lawyers Under 40 Awards, and the 2011 NAPABA Affiliate of the Year Award during the 23rd Annual NAPABA Convention in Atlanta, Georgia.

Asian Pacific American Leaders Applaud Nomination of John Z. Lee as Federal District Court Judge for the Northern District of Illinois

Today, President Barack Obama nominated John Z. Lee to serve on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. If confirmed, Mr. Lee would be only the second Asian Pacific American in U.S. history to serve as an Article III judge in any of the courts encompassed by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. He would also become only the second Korean American in the history of the United States to serve as a federal district court judge.
