NAPABA & Civil Rights Issues in Arizona

Dear NAPABA Members:

Due to some technical problems, some of you may have missed NAPABA's statements about the anti-LGBT bill pending in Arizona. I want you to know that President Bill Simonitsch and the NAPABA Board of Governors are fully engaged on this issue and share the concerns that some of you have expressed about our Convention taking place in Arizona. If you haven't already read Bill's statement to members that was issued yesterday, please click here to read it. You may also be interested in reading a press release issued on Monday, available here, that criticized the bill and urged Governor Brewer to veto it. Yesterday, we sent a letter to the Governor Brewer to directly urge her to veto the bill and to inform her that failure to do so would result in serious consideration by NAPABA of moving the NAPABA Convention to another state. You can read that letter here.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Best regards,

Tina Matsuoka
