The Committee has approved candidates who not only have demonstrated leadership capabilities, but more importantly have also seriously considered their goals for NAPABA, the challenges and opportunities they see facing NAPABA in the coming year, and how they anticipate accomplishing them. Beyond participation, the Committee believes leadership and accomplishment are key. In preparation of the exercise of your right to vote, we encourage you to take the time to consider the vision each candidate has for NAPABA and to make your selections accordingly.

NAPABA believes that the active participation of members, affiliates, and national associates is essential to a vibrant and progressive organization and encourages the engagement of its members in the nomination and election process. To facilitate the involvement of members and related entities, NAPABA provides for an endorsement process by which members can inform one another about candidate qualifications and support candidates through endorsements, advertisements, articles, and other means. Any individual, affiliate, national associate, or other entity (except for the current members of the Committee and NAPABA staff) may endorse any candidate. Further, although no individual member of the Committee shall officially endorse any candidate, the member may provide information regarding any candidate. Candidate materials, including candidate statements, may contain a list of endorsements. For additional information, please review the Endorsement Policy and Protocols, which is available here.

Voting Deadline: midnight PDT on Friday, September 12, 2014
All votes must be received before midnight PDT (i.e., by 11:59 pm PDT) on Friday, September 12, 2014. An electronic ballot will sent to every member's email address of record. The next edition of the NAPABA Lawyer Newsletter (also to be distributed later this month) will include a ballot for members who prefer to vote by paper ballot. Paper ballots representing an individual’s vote must show the name of the individual voting (either pre-printed, handwritten, or typed) and be postmarked or facsimile time-stamped no later than the deadline in order to be counted.

Voter Eligibility
Only members in good standing as of August 1, 2014, are eligible to vote in NAPABA elections. Members must be admitted to the practice of law and (a) be in good standing with the bar of any state, territory, or province of the United States, the District of Columbia, or Canada, or (b) have heretofore met the requirements in category (a) and now be retired.
