You are invited to sponsor and attend NAPABA’s California Regional Conference on June 19-20, 2009 at the downtown Sheraton Los Angeles Hotel to explore the service role of APA attorneys in our evolving economy through CLE seminars and networking receptions. This important regional conference will bring diverse attorneys, judges and law students together and feature noteworthy speakers to address how APA attorneys can make a positive difference not only in their careers but for their communities.

We are facing unprecedented change in our profession, the economy, our government, and personal lives which makes this Regional Conference extremely timely as we reevaluate “service” in the broadest sense – service to our communities, our profession, and to our careers. Now more than ever, we are asking ourselves how we can serve the public interest, devote time to public service, how to retool our skill sets to meet a changing economy, foster diversity in our profession, and to network to maximize our contribution as APA attorneys.

This California Regional Conference will bring together attorneys, judges, law students, public sector and public interest attorneys from throughout California and beyond. In-house counsel and corporations will be in attendance to share their perspectives.

Guest speakers include Erwin Chemerinsky, the renowned constitutional law and civil rights expert who is the Founding Dean of the newly formed UC Irvine School of Law as well as Susan Ahn Cuddy, a pioneer of women and ethnic minorities in the legal practice and a former Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, a Naval Intelligence Officer, and analyst during the Cold War.
